WHAT’S NEW THIS YEAR!?

Instead of individual reading logs that are turned in and collected at each location, we developed a reading log booklet. You will keep this booklet with all your logs throughout the entire program. If you complete the Bonus log and ultimately the entire program, this whole book will be turned in at any SERG Restaurant.

This program is now only available for children aged 0 through 8 th grade. High school students are welcome to participate; however, they are not eligible for any of the 1000 scholarships.

Big Air Trampoline Park of Bluffton has joined us as a presenting Sponsor. Big Air Bluffton will be opening in Bluffton this winter, 2026. Your voucher for a free hourlong jump session will be valid at ONLY this location upon its opening.

STAR READERS 2026 FAQ

  1. The challenge was developed in an effort to promote reading among students aged 0 through 8th grade in grades K-12 in order to enhance their learning experience during the fall semester. The program is open to all children aged 0 through 8th grade students grades K-12, whether they attend public school, private school or are homeschooled.
  2. To begin the program, students must pick up a reading log book. This booklet contains all reading logs. They will then fill out each reading log to be approved by a parent or guardian; the reading logs will then be presented at the prize redemption location turned in for various rewards. Each reading level 1-5 requires the student and parent/ guardian to log 5 hours of reading time. The Bonus level requires 10 hours
  3. The logs are to be completed sequentially.
  4. To be entered into the grand prize drawing of $1000 deposited into a SC 529 Scholarship account, the child must complete all 5 logs and the “Bonus Log”
  1. Students can pick up their Star Readers Log Book from any of our restaurants or at the local Hilton Head or Bluffton Public Library When they have logged 5 hours of reading time, they will be eligible to take in the Star 1 Reading Log to either Frankie Bones Hilton Head or Bluffton or the Pocket’s Full of Sunshine ‘Sunshine House’ (64 Arrow Rd, Hilton Head, 29928). When presented, Frankie Bones and/or Pockets Full of Sunshine will issue a free star readers t-shirt, A voucher for a free S’more from Frankie Bones and a log 1 stamped in your log book. The student will then be able to take that stamp book to the remaining locations of the challenge and get it stamped each time.
  2. The student will keep the log book throughout the program to track rewards as they are issued.
  3. At each Star Level, the restaurant/ location where the reward is redeemed will stamp the appropriate square and provide the prize.
  4. Here is the breakdown for rewards and redemption locations:
    • Pick up your Log Book inclusive of all (6) logs from your school, any SERG restaurant or the Hilton Head or Bluffton Public Library.
    • After reading 5 hours and logging it in your log, take your Log book with log 1 filled in to either Frankie Bones locations or Pockets Sunshine House and receive a Star Readers t-shirt, a S’more Voucher and a log 1 stamp.
    • Read 5 Hours & Complete Reading Log 2 in book and bring Completed Log 2 to ONE HOT MAMA’S HILTON HEAD OR BLUFFTON and Receive a Free One-Hour Jump Voucher, compliments of the NEW Big Air Bluffton, & EARN YOUR SECOND STAMP!

  • Please note, if you decide to print your own book, please make it a booklet by stapling it all together. This whole book should be turned in at the completion of the program.
  • To redeem either the Voucher for the Frankie Bones S’more, the Local Legend games, the Boathouse Ice Cream or the $50 SERG Gift card reward the student must present the voucher/ gift card at checkout at the corresponding location. One dining voucher reward per student can be redeemed per check. If there are multiple students on the same check more than one discount per check can be applied but only one per student.
  • For the Big Air Hour-long Jump Session, please note that their intended opening date is Winter of 2026. Follow them on social media or at their website or more concrete opening date.
  • For the Dolphin tour, please call outside Hilton head to reserve your tour.

The Entire log book must be turned in at any SERG Location  (no later than November 4 th , 2026 ). The student will then be entered into a randomized raffle and then if chosen, will be notified.

We encourage parents of younger students to read with or to their student. This time
can be documented on the reading log book and presented for rewards.
